Professor Marston and the Wonder Women
October 13 will see the release of the film “Professor Marston and the Wonder Women.” It looks at the unconventional life of Dr. William Marston, Harvard psychologist and inventor, and the polyamorous relationship between himself, his wife, and their lover—a relationship that inspired the iconic super heroine Wonder Woman.
The film is written and directed by Angela Robinson and stars Luke Evans as William Moulton Marston, Rebecca Hall as Elizabeth Holloway Marston, and Bella Heathcote as Olive Byrne. (Hall also starred in the delightful and lightly polyamorous “Vicky Cristina Barcelona.”) Through the pen name “Charles Moulton,” Marston combined his and Elizabeth’s and Olive’s feminist ideals to create a superhero character that girls could look up to. The film also looks at the controversy the comic generated in its earliest years.
The movie looks to be a good one and you can expect us to be at the theater on opening day. If you want a look at the trailer: YouTube and/or Apple Trailers.
